Photography has always held a special place in my heart, a passion that took on a deeper meaning later in life. Growing up, I lost my mom at a young age, and it was this significant loss that ignited my love for capturing moments. The scarcity of photos from my own past with her led me to a profound realization – the power of preserving memories. This is why I'm drawn to the emotive allure of film aesthetics; it's like a sensory experience, akin to smelling a perfume that transports you back to a specific moment. Photography, especially with a film aesthetic, has been my source of healing, allowing me to reconnect with cherished memories. My mission is to offer you tangible moments that evoke the same emotions I've grown to love and cherish, ensuring you can relive and experience those special feelings again and again.
Growing up in Palm Springs, I never really appreciated its simplicity and beauty until I got older. The breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains, the smell of the creosote after rainfall, the grounding warmth of the sun on my skin (not mid-summer though), the beautiful colors of the sunset and the sense-all these have become reasons why I've grown to love the simple beauty of Palm Springs and the surrounding cities.
Now, I'm navigating single motherhood with a 13-year-old boy and an 9-year-old girl. They're as different as night and day, but somehow, they complement each other perfectly. My kids have taught me more about life than any classroom ever could. They've shown me the importance of bouncing back from tough times, finding joy in the little things, being patient, embracing differences, and, most importantly, the incredible power of love. Adding to the chaos, we have two dogs—a frenchie and a shih tzu—making our home dynamic and lively. When we're not in the desert, you'll find us at the beach, our second home. We love our lazy days filled with movies, board games, and cuddles. I'm so thankful that my love for photography lets me be present for them every step of the way. It's a gift I'll never take for granted.
The birth of the name "Gypsee" is a homage to my mom's favorite song, "Gypsy" by Fleetwood Mac, which resonates with a timeless wanderlust. It's not just a nod to the music; it encapsulates my deep-seated desire to explore new places while passionately pursuing photography. Taking the word "gypsy" and playfully spelling it as Gypsee isn't just a clever twist—it's a reflection of my commitment to "seeing." It symbolizes not only the physical act of exploring diverse landscapes but also the art of visually capturing the beauty and stories that unfold in every journey. Gypsee is more than a name; it's a celebration of wanderlust, artistic vision, and the love for capturing moments in every corner of the world.
I can't express how happy I am with the decision to choose Jacey as our wedding
photographer. Each photo allows us to relive those precious moments.
Her attention to detail is remarkable, and what I love most is that we get to see parts of our day that we missed in person—it makes everything feel even more special.
We will always cherish Jaceys work!
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
We hope to return to Joshua Tree soon and would love to reconnect for another mini shoot.'
